Barry Johnson

Barry Johnson brings more than 20 years of experience in brokerage, development, and real estate management to ATX Property Group, along with a unique background spanning aviation assets, finance, and private equity acquisitions.

A graduate of Baylor University with a BBA in Finance and Real Estate, Barry began building his industry knowledge while still in school. During his time at Baylor, he worked his way up to a loan officer position at Synergy Bank, where he developed a strong understanding of the banking system, credit analysis, and the lending process.

Following graduation, Barry joined a brokerage firm in Central Texas where he quickly became involved in a wide range of sectors including land and ranch properties, development projects, residential and commercial brokerage, retail, office, industrial, multifamily, and student housing. His diverse experience allows him to approach transactions with both a financial and operational perspective.

In addition to his brokerage career, Barry served as the acquisitions manager for a private equity group specializing in distressed assets and loan packages secured by commercial real estate and business jets. In this role, he was instrumental in the successful acquisition of a portfolio of ten Skilled Nursing Facilities valued at over $100 million, as well as a portfolio of loans secured by business jets valued at more than $60 million.

Barry also has significant experience within the aviation industry, including the lease and sale of corporate hangars, jet sales, and the acquisition, management, and operation of Fixed Base Operators (FBOs). This specialized background allows him to navigate complex aviation-related real estate and asset transactions with a high level of expertise.

Having spent his entire career in real estate and aviation-related ventures, Barry maintains a constant focus on market conditions, economic trends, political and regulatory developments, land habitat and conservation issues, and other factors that influence property value and use throughout Texas. His broad experience across finance, real estate, and aviation provides clients with a strategic advantage when evaluating and executing complex transactions.
